Banana & honey face mask for a natural glow!

My go-to face mask when I have dull and dry skin always involves banana and honey.

The face mask is so easy to make and the skin feels so soft & moisturised afterwards. I usually add other ingredients to the banana & honey base depending on my skin. (like turmeric, cucumber, egg white...) Today, I made it with added oats and cocoa powder.

A little about the ingredients:

Bananas are rich in potassium and vitamin C that help to maintain the skin's natural and youthful glow, moisturising and hydrating the skin getting rid of that dull, tired look.

Honey is great for a complexion boost as it is very moisturising and soothing. It is antiseptic and anti-bacterial, so also good for acne-prone skin! It's best to use raw honey, but I don't always have that, so I use whatever I have in my kitchen cupboard and it works fine.

Oats are one of my favourite ingredients. They are also great for acne-prone skin as they soak up excess oil from the skin, while their anti-inflammatory properties soothe and calm irritated skin. I prefer to grind them in the blender first, as they are easier to use on face, but don't always bother. They work as a mild exfoliator as well.

Cocoa powder is anti-inflammatory and rich in antioxidants - properties that help to clear the skin from blemishes while increasing its elasticity. Use pure cocoa powder and not a brand with added sugar...

Ingredients:

1/4 mashed banana

1 tsp honey

1-2 spoonfuls of oats

1/2 tsp cocoa powder

Mix all the ingredients into a paste that is not too runny (add more honey or oats) and apply on face. Leave for 25-30 minutes, wipe off and wash in lukewarm

water.

I use a paper mask to cover my face mask as it will prevent the runny ingredients from going anywhere else but my face.
